Garvey Building Contractors is an Irish construction company working on bespoke homes, residential developments and commercial projects across Leinster. We also undertake extensions and renovations, working closely with homeowners, architects and developers.
Our founder, Paul Garvey, brings over 22 years of construction experience, including nine years in Australia, where he ran a bricklaying and stonework business involved in major projects. Today, he remains directly involved in our work alongside a skilled, established team.

Before construction begins, we review the drawings and plan how the work will be carried out. As the build progresses, we check the workmanship at each stage, including structural details and services that will eventually be covered over. It's much easier to put something right at that point than discover it once the finishes are complete.
That same attention continues through the finishing work, snagging and handover. Whether we're building a family home or delivering a larger development, we want every finished project to meet the standard we're proud to put our name on.

Stage 01
First contact
Call, message, email us or submit a form on the website with the job you have in mind. We will ask the right questions and tell you what we need to see next.

Site visit
We visit the site, talk through the work and get a proper feel for access, layout, scope and anything that needs checking early.

Drawings and pricing
We analyse the drawings, price the work properly and make sure the figure is based on what is actually being built.
Stage 04
Agreement and schedule
Once the price is agreed, we set the schedule, confirm the next steps and get the job ready to start on site.

Frequently Asked Questions
We agree the deposit and payment schedule before work begins. Payments are then made at the stages set out in your quotation or contract, so you know what is due and when. The deposit amount depends on the project.
Our quotation is based on the drawings and scope agreed at the outset. If you change the plans, or we uncover something that could not reasonably have been identified beforehand, we’ll explain the options and any effect on the price before the additional work goes ahead.
Yes. We set out the agreed scope of work, price and payment terms in writing before work starts. For larger projects, the agreement also covers the programme and how any changes will be managed. That gives everyone a clear understanding of what has been agreed.
We provide a clear breakdown of the proposed work so you can understand what the price covers. The level of detail will depend on the drawings and information available, but we’ll talk you through the quotation and answer any questions before you decide to proceed.
Paul stays involved throughout the project, working closely with the team responsible for the day-to-day work on site. You’ll know who your main point of contact is and who to speak to when you have a question.
Yes, we may have other projects under way. We plan our team, trades and programme around each job so the work has the attention and site management it needs.
We’ll keep you informed as the work moves through each stage, including any decisions we need from you. If something changes on site that could affect the scope, cost or schedule, we’ll talk it through with you as early as possible.
We agree a programme before work starts and coordinate the trades around it. Construction can be affected by weather, deliveries, site conditions or changes to the plans. If something is likely to affect the schedule, we’ll explain what has happened and work through the next steps with you.
Yes. If you’d like to change something, let us know as early as you can. We’ll explain how it would affect the work, price and schedule, then agree the change with you before going ahead.
That depends on the extent of the work and which parts of the house will be affected. We’ll discuss it with you during the site visit and plan how to protect and separate the areas you’ll still be using where possible. There will be some dust and disruption, but we’ll be clear about what to expect before work starts.
Garvey Building Contractors is a member of the Construction Industry Federation. We can provide details of our relevant insurance and company documentation before work begins, so you know who you’re appointing and what cover is in place.
Paul has worked in construction for over 22 years. He completed his training with Cosgrave Developments before spending nine years in Australia, where he ran his own business and worked across residential, commercial and government projects. Today, he brings that experience to Garvey Building alongside a close team and trusted trades. We’re happy to show you relevant projects and client references.
Yes. We work with architects, engineers and other design professionals from pricing through to construction. We review the drawings carefully, raise questions where details need clarifying and stay in contact with the design team as work progresses.
We walk through the finished work with you and record anything that needs attention. We then agree how the remaining items will be completed and provide the relevant handover information for your project.
Contact us directly and we’ll review the issue with you. If it relates to our work, we’ll explain the next steps and deal with it in line with the project agreement and any applicable cover.
At Garvey Building, we pride ourselves on keeping our sites clean, tidy and well organised throughout the build. Construction work brings some dust and disruption, but we take care to manage it, respect neighbouring properties and leave the site clean at handover.
